Stock Trade Basics

Successful trading in the financial markets requires a good understanding of the basics. Stocks and promissory notes are key ingredients of the market. What are the advantages of buying promissory notes? What are the advantages of trading stocks? How do these two compare?

Promissory notes have the following feature. Owner of a promissory note has the right to receiving a fixed amount of money some time in the future. Trading that involves promissory notes is called the market of promissory notes. Stock market is comprised of stocks which obligates the issuer to pay the holder a certain amount of money which is determined by the return received after paying off the promissory notes. Thus, promissory notes market and stock market are functions of each other.

In the financial market are also securities. They refer to both categories (promissory notes and stocks) as preference shares and converted bonds. They are also referred to as instruments with fixed return. Although this might seem like a list of vocabulary words, knowing what they are and how they play a role in the financial market will make you a better trader. When in doubt, ask the experts (brokers).
